This photo crop is a little bit off, but I think I'm finished with Ruidoso Colors. I started to go in with a really deep, dark background, but have sorta changed my mind...for right now. It's my custom to live with a painting for a few days before signing it...so there's always a window for change.
This is a quarter page, done with mostly AJ paints (cobalt, sap green, gamboge, perm red, DS perm rose, a touch here and there of thalo green and blue off of my Joyce Faulknor porcelain tray from her workshop that I just hate to wash away...so I haven't).
Mollie, beautiful use of color here, very nice
ReplyDeleteI love the spoon and the cherries.
ReplyDeleteMollie, this is gorgeous. I like the background that seems to reflect/repeat some of the bluish colors in the rest of the painting. The colors are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Krista, Mary, and Christiane. I was going for a really dark background, but after thinking about it, decided to go with the blues to tone down some of those reds. Glad you like it.
ReplyDeleteThis is very clever, Mollie. I'm imprssed not only with the detail, but how you managed to keep your use of red varied even though it's such a dominant colour. Excellent execution, well done.
