The Sunshine Plate

My artist friend from the UK, Pat Elliott, gave me this very appropriate name for my painting. Many thanks to her as my mind is frozen from all this cold weather and I couldn't come up with anything I liked. As you can see, I completely eliminated the banana nub and thanks to the miracle of aliz crimson and permenant red the whole orb was lifted out and painted over and it just looks like a dark area of the apple now. Just love transparent paints. All this red and yellow make me happy...and I do hope it carries over as we're supposed to get snow tonight and all day tomorrow. Ah, Texas weather!!!

  1. I'm honoured you liked the name, Mollie.
I hope the warmth in the painting encourages the warmth back into Texas and the snow passes you by *hugs* xx

  4. cara Mollie la frutta del tuo dipinto sembra così naturale che ti vien voglia di mangiarla. questo acquerello fa pensare al calore della casa e mette allegria. Un saluto Ornella

  6. Thanks so much Irina, Arti, Ornella and Rhonda. I rather like the happy painting myself now that I fixed that banana. Now that I've lived with it a day or two I may go back and tweak that darkest apple also...up there on the left top side there is a little area that I'm not happy with...so...I guess we could fiddle with our paintings forever, huh?

  7. Beautiful painting and Great Save!! (Who says you can't correct watercolor???) I, too, love those reds - they will always brighten up your day, snow or not! We've got sun today, but snow coming tonight and tomorrow - I feel your pain! Seems this year no where in the "lower 48" is safe from Ol' Man Winter.

  8. Thanks so much Deb...I really value your opinion. Don't remember whether I've commented this on your blog or not, but that blue pitcher on your heading is "to die for"...I could study it forever. Hope your weather "straightens up" soon too.
