Blackberry Delight
This is the crystal demo I'll be doing with the PaintFriends group when we go to Florida in August. They wanted crystal...so...they're getting crystal. I loved the idea of blackberries and blueberries to give some darks in the composition. The little crystal cream pitcher was a whopping $4.00 at a local antique store and it came with the sugarbowl to boot. Got them when I found the silver tea service that I'm also using for the silver demo I'll do. I love getting fun things for setups. This crystal bowl was a Christmas present from my daughter this year...I loved the fan facets and the uneven top rim...sure made for an interesting setup when I was photograhing this one. I think the artists will all come away with a wonderful painting.

Mollie, you have done it again! Superb berries and crystal! How lucky the Splash participants are to be getting this demo.
ReplyDeleteThanks Christiane...so far, they're all excited about painting it...some may think it's too detailed, but they'll all come away with beautiful paintings just like they did with the crystal last year. I'm honored that they wanted to paint crystal again...and they wanted to "kick it up" a notch.
DeleteI am amazed how you manage to paint crystal Mollie! You make it look so clear yet you don't lose any of the clarity. Wonderful:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann...sure wish you were going to be able to join us...maybe next year.
DeleteI would love to come and paint like that under your instruction! Its great that you share your talents with others that way. This is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katherine, glad you like it...you should join our forum...PaintingFriends...it's so much fun, and we all teach each other along the way.
DeleteHello Molly:) Beautiful! Love the crystal, the fruit, the colors and the background. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words, Renate...I really appreciate it. You know how we paint what we enjoy painting, and it's always affirming when somebody else likes it too.
ReplyDeleteI know your painting group will enjoy this demo and painting - my "retreat" will be the first full week of August this year in NC - so we will both be able to enjoy some great painting time with friends then - it just doesn't get any better than that, does it!
ReplyDeleteYou're right Deb...we met at the same place last year in Florida and it was so much fun to meet the girls from all over the country. We had met on line, and decided to meet face to face...it's such a great treat to paint together. You're right...it's the best!
DeleteYour crystals are always amazing, Mollie.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Arti...I love to paint glass. Next will be the silver and I'm just about finished.
