Ritzy Rose WIP

Thought I'd show you what I'm working on now...you know how it has to be something with red or I'm not interested. This one has turned out to be rather challenging as the red on the cracker box and the red on the teapot need to be definitely different hues, and I'm not sure what I want to do with the reds on the teapot. We'll see. This will go on the back burner for a week as our workshop with Joyce Faulknor and Guy Magallanes starts Monday.

My painting buddy, Rose, brought this darling little teapot to our art retreat the other day...hence my title. I think my old standby stripped napkin really works in this setup.

  2. Mollie, indeed this is lovely already! I love how the colors in the cracker box are repeated in the striped napkin! There are several curved lines that really keep the eyes moving.

We will all try to be patient while you put this painting away for a few days:-) I hope that you will have a wonderful workshop.

  3. I love this one, too. Can't wait to see it finished, but sounds like I will have to wait while you go do your workshop with Joyce and Guy. Have fun! I'll be thinking about you. I'm still painting for the August 28 show and rushing to do housecleaning also before my grandsons turn up on the doorstep next week.

  4. I love this! And red too! It has to be in all my paintings as well. It makes it work for me.

  5. Thanks for stopping by, Ross. I checked out your site...really enjoyed your work and especially "Waiting for Wash Day". Love the "in your face" composition.
